
James and Alida here with the cutter, he went to see Jason about Sarah’s property. George Ellis called here, also Mr. Miller came here on business with Ed. Tues. 3/1
Fixed latch to the barn door and sawed some wood. Mart helped Ed saw today. Pleasant and mild, thawing very fast. Wed. 3/2
Helped Ed cut up one log then split and piled some. After noon went to Beaver Dams with Ed and went to Frank’s. Carrie and Leon alone. Frank gone to Aunt Janes, then went to concert at Universalist church. Thur 3/3
Piled wood and done chores. Duanes and Frank Horton here today. Frank stayed all night. Cold rain and wind. Fri 3/4
Cold east wind Horton’s folks and George Holden here today. After noon stormy and windy night. Sat 3/5
Rainy and very icy morning. I had to shovel from all the doors and gates. Ed took Frank Horton’s to Mr. jones’s. George and Minnie here tonight. Sun 3/6
Ed went to Watkins to mill. Took one bag of buckwheat from here and got 4 bushels of wheat to Frank’s of mine. Minnie went home with him. I sawed wood and turned the water out of the road. Mon 3/7
Ed took 28 bushels of potatoes to Watkins. I went along to Beaver Dams and came back afoot. Larry Stone came afoot. Tues 3/8
Pleasant morning. Charley Stevens folks and Mrs. Phelps and Nettie here today, also Mrs. Holden. Ed and Charley went to Orson Underwood’s . Ed bought a dog. They all went home at night in the rain. Wed 3/9
Some colder with a little snow. We split and piled some wood. Arthur here with old Flora. After noon Albert Fero and wife here. Thurs 3/10
Ed went to mill with cow feed. I went to post office and received a letter from Ett. Then went to Mr. Cogers and to Mr. Anthony’s and James. Stayed all night to Frank’s. Fri 3/11
Started from Frank’s for Avoca. Took dinner at Charley’s in Corning, then took the train. Got to Wallace at 20 past three. Met Mit and Alida there and went home with them. I and Mit went over to John’s and took him up at his offer for his farm, but he wanted to see if he could get more. Sat 3/12
I and Ett and Iva went to Jim Olmsted’s, Ben and Jane there. Went to Mit’s and stayed all night. Colder Sun 3/13
Cold north wind. I stayed all night to Mit’s. Mon 3/14
Cold and bad getting around. I went to Jerry’s a spell. Tues 3/15
At Mit’s today. Cold and squally. Wed 3/16
I and Iva went to Edward’s. thurs 3/17
I went down to Jim Olmsteds. Cold day, to Mit’s most all day. Fri. 3/18
I went to Sol’s but he had gone to Wallace, then I went to Jerry;s and made a visit. Sat 3/19
I went over to Sol’s, Mr. Hopkins folks were there. I called to see Mr. Edwards and also to Jerry’s for a spell. Sun 3/20
Went to Jerry’s and bought 7 ½ lbs of sugar, paid 11 cents. Then went to where Mit was boiling sap, they sugared off at night at the house and we had all the warm sugar we wanted. Mon 3/21
I and Alida started for home. Mit brought us to Wallace. Ed met us at Beaver Dams. Cold squally day. Tues 3/22
Ed took his mother home and took shingles to his place. I went along to Beaver Dams and got the grange book of Nettie. Went to Frank’s for supper and to Black Diamond Show at night. Came home with Ed afoot.Wed 3/23
Fine day. James Alida and Loren here today. I took Alida Olmsted to McCluskeys Melusky? after James went home. Thurs 3/24
I and Ed drawed on logs and piled lumber at Bucher’s Mill,and brought 6 planks and 11 strips home. Fri 3/25
Home all day. Mr. Moore and Mrs. Moore here today. Ed went to Mr. Lefevers and Alida went along to Mrs. Melusky’s. Isaac Moore came here tonight. Mrs. Isaiah Bussey died today. Sat 3/26
Home all day. Leroy Weller and Isaac here all day. Isaac went home at night. Sun 3/27
I went to Mrs. Bussey’s funeral as one of the pall bearers. Rain in the forenoon but turned cold. Ed went down home and to Townsend. I sent $30 to mit in a letter. Mon 3/28
Cold, windy day-I done the chores and bottomed chairs by the stove. Ed went down home and helped saw some wood. Tues 3/29
Ed went down home and to Watkins. Abe and Kate here today. Fine day Wed 3/30
Ed and Allie went to his father’s and Alida went along. I rode along to Beaver Dams and paid Rhoda Phelps $300 to apply on Gaylor mortage when property signed over to me. Went over to fire works? And home afoot. Thurs 3/31
