I found a reference to my great-great grandmother, Martha (Obert) Lafever's funeral on March 5th 1891, as well as references of visits to the Lafever family. This diary really brings home how life was back then, it is truly a treasure. I have found that three families in my lineage come from the area. The Coles, Lafevers, and Wickhams. I have attached the comment regarding "old Mrs. Lafever's" funeral to her profile in ancestry.com. Thank you so much for the effort and thoughtfulness to make these available. Susan Lafever Haigh
